The Boathouse Rose Bay

Mediterranean$$

All-weather waterside dining for all ages and occasions.

Seafood on the harbour, spritzes on the terrace and a backdrop of seaplanes and superyachts. If you’re looking for somewhere quintessentially Sydney, this revamped marina is it.

The Boathouse Group took over the former home of Pier and Regatta in 2021, giving the space its signature maritime style (crab pots on the ceiling, a giant shell-framed mirror and upturned dinghies).

It’s the kind of space that hums in summer, while a fireplace and overhead heaters keeps things cosy in winter.

After an earlier foray into Turkish food, the menu is now more broadly Australian-Mediterranean, meaning vibrant tuna tartare and creamy taramasalata, or a delicate chilli crab linguine that makes for excellent seaside eating.

A pink-centered eye fillet demonstrates the kitchen’s strength with classics, while meringue daubed in lemon curd and berries makes for a pretty finish. Or sit back and take it all in with a blushing booze-free Fizz cocktail.
