Punpun

Japanese$

A sando shop inspired by Japan’s convenience store culture.

Sandwich shops are everywhere this year, but you’ll be hard-pressed finding any as memorably delicious as Punpun. The cafe is a singular melange of Japanese convenience store, inner-city coffee bar and cheffy fast food – best appreciated with a large batch brew and steamed-custard egg sando, served on shokupan bread with sliced cheese and chive mayo.

Good to know: Co-owner Lexy Allouche has a shrine to cult chilli condiment Lao Gan Ma in the kitchen.
