Coledale Bistro
Pub dining$
A retro-style RSL serving next level counter meals.
What if one of the state’s best fish and chippers took over the kitchen of the local RSL with their chef friend, quietly giving locals and day-trippers one more place to stop in sleepy Coledale? We don’t have to wonder, thanks to Ben Sinfield and Tania Ho, co-owners of Rosie’s Fish and Chips, who’ve teamed up with chef Rob Doll to helm the bistro at the volunteer-run club.
The bikies soaking up the sun with a schooner might raise an eyebrow at a $31.50 parmie ($30 for members), but these pub classics are slicker than your average: the parmigiana is capped with proper nap sauce, smoked ham and three cheeses and served with a fistful of rocket; beer-battered onion rings have unrivalled crunch; caesar salad is its own meal.
Meanwhile, blackboard specials and plates like Ulladulla tuna with buttery caper crunch push things even further. What a win.
Good to know: There’s plenty for grommets too, with bangers and mash, a schnitzel and fish and chips on the kids’ menu.
