Bandit

Cafe$

One-man show serving epic toasties in the heart of town.

Wrap your laughing gear around a hulking tuna melt at Bandit, named as a nod to Beechworth’s history with bushranger Ned Kelly. It’s a one-man show run by Dominik King who makes the entire menu in house – from a family pickle recipe to the pastrami layered in the signature Reuben toastie, to the slow-cooked pork sandwiched in a milk bun between pickles, ranch, cos lettuce and cheddar. There’s only room for about 25 customers inside the venue, but pack a picnic rug as the tranquil Centennial Park is just a short walk away. Coffee is by Wodonga roastery the Blessed Bean.

Good to know: King also serves a special evening menu on Thursdays – perhaps a pasta night, or $6 tacos with frozen margaritas in the summer.
