Mocha Green

Perched on the corner of Hawthorn and Glen Huntly roads, this unassuming cafe doesn't go in for fancy decor, instead choosing to show off its combined Eastern European and Middle Eastern heritage in a fully laden glass cabinet. It bulges with fantastic cakes and scrumptious borek, including a fruity apple and cinnamon variety. The pecan and fudge slice in particular works a treat with house blend Di Bella's heady, caramel mouthfeel and lemony aftertaste. While the interior may be spartan, the super-friendly staff imbue the place with a bouncy character that keeps the locals coming back - particularly for hugs.
