This unassuming cafe cracked the takeaway market first but now plenty of people are dining in for the warm service, lively open kitchen and good-value meals. Northern Thai chef Suthep 'Tong' Narai includes Japanese favourites from wife Kyoko's homeland in his accessible menu. Miso soup and tom yum sit cheek-to-cheek, while stir-fries might feature Thai basil and chilli or sukiyaki sauce. The roast duck curry with lychees is a winner, and banana dumpling with sticky rice, black beans and coconut ice-cream is groan-inducingly good.
