The Peel Inn

Contemporary$$

If you're into weirdness, the front bar has taxidermied conjoined calves' heads on the wall. If you're into wonderfulness, head straight out the back to the beer garden, a fairy light paradise under gnarly old grapevines. The Peel Inn is all charm and no pretention. The food is honest country fare; house-made beef pies with mushy peas and mash, local trout (smoked, grilled or baked with lemon) and chicken schnitzel with garlic aioli. Sit out the front with the locals, hunker down in the twee timber dining room or watch the footy in the front bar. The beer is cold and the service is warm. Breakfast daily from 8am by appointment.
