The Oaks Hotel

Pub dining$$

Everything is extremely good-looking at The Oaks: from the huge chunks of wagyu that you throw on the barbie underneath the oak tree in the courtyard to the patrons, who happily include families. If you're not in the mood to cook your own there's a gourmet pizza bar that turns out traditional and non-traditional (Peking duck sausage, barramundi) thin-crust varieties. Massive mussel pots come in five flavours (the au congo features a coconut cream, lemongrass and chilli broth) with a paper cone of fries and a dollop of mayo on the side. Laptop-carrying types can enjoy a serve of free Wi-Fi with their meal.
