It has been a tough week for restaurant closures. Hartsyard, a staple of Enmore Road for a decade, will shut its doors on August 29.

The news isn't all bad. The Hartsyard crew are working with The Old Clare Hotel in Chippendale, with a new restaurant set to open at the end of the year.

Culinary itineraries for Canberra over the past 14 years have also reliably included the award-winning Aubergine restaurant in Griffith. The restaurant will serve its last smoked eel with raspberry and beetroot on October 1.

The owners are unsure of their future plans at this stage.

And Pilgrims Bronte, which opened in the early days of the pandemic in 2020, wiped its social media accounts last week and papered over its windows. Good Food can reveal the owners of the Macpherson Street eatery will relaunch next weekend with a new name and concept. It'll become Locale Bronte.
