The ‘quick and easy’ meal the star of Wicked eats after the show

Sheridan Adams is a performer starring in the musical Wicked. Here, the 25-year-old shares her day on a plate.

The performer starts her day a little later and with a cup of lemongrass and ginger tea.

10am Because I wake up rather late, I’m not huge on breakfast. But I always start my day with a cup of lemongrass and ginger tea and a glass of water – the first glass of many.

1.30pm Lunch time! I love a fresh ham and salad sandwich. I enjoy it with a side of strawberries, mango and passionfruit yoghurt, as well as a little choc brownie bar.

4.30pm My pre-show feed tends to be light. Some pineapple and a chicken, roast pumpkin, rocket and feta salad, topped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing.

11.30pm After the show, I often pop a pre-made meal in the microwave: quick and easy before bed and healthier than takeaway. My favourite is hickory smoked meatballs with beans and rice.

Dr Joanna McMillan says:

Top marks for … Skipping breakfast. Since you eat late, this allows your gut a break from digestion and helps prevent overeating. Your tea and water are perfect to hydrate you first thing.

If you keep eating like this you’ll … Fuel your body nicely. Just be careful your late meal doesn’t impact the quality of your sleep. However, it is a smart choice to opt for a pre-made meal over takeaway, plus it’s portion-controlled.

Why don’t you try … Cooking when you have time and popping what you make into the freezer in ready portions. Include fish at least twice a week, especially oily fish to boost omega-3s, essential for brain health.
