10.15am Mushrooms on sourdough with sharp cheddar omelette drizzled with a velvety balsamic reduction. Plus an almond croissant. Second coffee: short black.

Noon Try to keep it light for lunch with a slow-roasted suckling pig on a spit, washed down with posset (a warm, creamy drink made from spiced milk curdled with ale).

3pm Third coffee.

6pm Dinner is stewed venison served with a rich wine reduction and buttered turnips on a bed of mashed sweet potato. Half a bottle of red. No greens. One Tim Tam.

Dr Joanna McMillan says:

Top marks for … Having the fanciest day on a plate I’ve read and making me look up “posset”! You have a good mix of nutritious and less-usual foods here including venison, a really healthy lean meat.

If you keep eating like this you’ll … Have to watch you don’t gain weight. All this rich food may also impact your gut health as it has too few healthy fats and not enough fibre.

Why don’t you try … Dropping one meal so you have three meals a day. Swap the butter for extra virgin olive oil and the croissant for almonds and blueberries. Opt for wholegrain or rye sourdough.
