STUMPS

India finish the day at 4-213 after a brilliant last session partnership from Rahane (40 not out) and Pujara (79 not out) who have batted India into a reasonably strong position with two days to play. They deserve to be favourites now after a see-sawing day, leading by 126 runs with six wickets in hand, even if the pitch has been playing reasonably well.

Nathan Lyon bowled well earlier in the day but went wicketless, with Josh Hazlewood the pick of the Australian bowlers with three wickets.

KL Rahul made another half-century for India but fell midway through the second session after a stunning catch from Steve Smith. Indian captain Virat Kohli fell cheaply again, given out in a marginal LBW call, but the hosts' late work steadied the ship.

Earlier in the way Ravindra Jadeja ended with six wickets after Australia lost 4-7 to be all out for 276, a lead of 89 after the first innings.

Rohan Connolly will be with you tomorrow for day four of the Test.

That's all for now, but check out all the news from our man Andrew Wu in Bangalore here.
