West Coast is hopeful a deal will be thrashed out with Brisbane on midfielder Jack Redden sooner rather than later.
"We are really keen to get him. We've had some productive discussions with Brisbane this morning and we're hopeful that we can reach some mutual ground," West Coast football GM Craig Vozzo said today.
Sydney have officially put Eagles fringe ruckman Callum Sinclair into a scenario for the trade West Coast hope to secure for Swans wantaway speedster Lewis Jetta.
"We've had some preliminary discussions on that but there has been nothing beyond that at the moment," Vozzo said.
Vozzo said the club respected Hawks midfielder Jed Anderson as a "very good player" but were unlikely to pursue the youngster.
Gold Coast hopes it can finalise a deal for Collingwood wantaway Paul Seedsman.
"Other clubs are interested as well, but we think he can play a valuable role at our footy club as that winger," Suns football operations manager Marcus Ashcroft said today.
"So over the next few days hopefully we will get close to getting that deal done."
Port Adelaide have offered pick No.10 for Charlie Dixon but the Suns want another pick for their young key forward and there was no more movement on that front today, Ashcroft said.

The double play so crucial to Fremantle's premiership chances next year appears likely to go the distance over the trade period.
The Dockers are hopeful of securing both Cam McCarthy from GWS and Harley Bennell from the Gold Coast, however there was little ground made on either front today.
General manager of player development Brad Lloyd said the club was still going through their "due diligence" on whether to recruit the troubled but talented Bennell.
McCarthy, a West Australian, has expressed interest in returning home and playing for the Dockers but the key forward still has two years to run on his contract at the Giants.
And there was very little to suggest that GWS would make his passage to the Fremantle an easy one.
Collingwood, Gold Coast and North Melbourne all expressed official interest in Jeremy Howe on the opening day of the trade period, but the Demons are still hopeful they will keep the high-marking player.
Demons football operations manager Josh Mahoney confirmed that Howe had not yet officially asked to be traded.
"We had a couple of conversations with clubs and there is obviously a bit of interest around him," Mahoney said.
"You never know. We still think there is a chance that he stays at Melbourne," he said.
"But we will listen to those clubs and see what they offer for him."
St Kilda deal-maker Ameet Bains says the club will do everything possible to ensure the problems they are having with Essendon on the Jake Carlisle deal do not hold up progress with Collingwood in relation to Nathan Freeman.
The Pies former No.10 draft pick wants to cross to St Kilda, as does Carlisle from the Bombers, but there are issues with the Carlisle deal (which you can read in the post below).
Bains would not divulge what the Pies had asked for in return for Freeman on the opening day of trade period, but said he was comfortable with the talks.
"We are certainly working on those at the same time. Our strong preference is to separate the deals so they don't get tangled up with each other," Bains said.
St Kilda and Essendon have reached an impasse on the Jake Carlisle deal, with both sides unwilling to budge on their strong preferences.
The Bombers want the Saints' first round draft pick - No.5 - in exchange for the key position swingman but the Saints are equally as adamant they will not give it up.
Saints key deal-maker Ameet Bains said his club was unlikely to yield in order to secure Carlisle, who has nominated St Kilda as his preferred home.
"As a club, and Essendon are no different, we need to try to get the best result for our own club," Bains said this afternoon.
"We won't be changing our mind. It's a question of them [Essendon] being willing to accept anything else."
