Timeline to the moment of truth

April 8-12, 2005: Australian Federal Police tip off Indonesian counterparts about alleged smuggling attempt.

April 17: Scott Rush, Michael Czugaj, Renae Lawrence and Martin Stephens arrested at Denpasar Airport with 8.3 kilograms of heroin. Andrew Chan also arrested. Myuran Sukumaran, Tan Duc Thanh Nguyen, Si Yi Chen and Matthew Norman arrested at Kuta's Melasti Hotel.

January 24-26, 2006: Prosecutors demand Sukumaran and Chan be sent to the firing squad. They ask for life sentences for six others, while Renae Lawrence faces 20 years.
