Prince Philip through the years
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II. Philip was born on 10 June 1921 in Greece. He joined the British Royal Navy in 1939, aged 18. After the war, Philip was granted permission by George VI to marry Elizabeth on 20th November 1947. Philip and Elizabeth have four children: Charles, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. Philip retired from his royal duties on 2 August 2017, aged 96.
