Day three of the DNC certainly packed some punch - Kamala Harris showed why she won the veepstakes; Hillary Clinton urged voters not to repeat history; and Barack Obama unleashed against a sitting president like he never has before.
Tomorrow will be the final day of the Convention, culminating in Joe Biden giving his acceptance speech as the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee.

Trump appeared triggered by the speeches Barack Obama and Kamala Harris gave. The US President live-tweeted his reaction to the speeches and continued to do so even after the DNC session ended for the day.
In the tweets, Trump ruminates on Barack Obama's level of support for Joe Biden, and Harris' affinity for Biden. Questions abound in Trump's mind!
Trump also accuses Obama of spying on his campaign, which in how Trump refers to the investigation into the Kremlin's meddling in the 2016 election.
This was echoed in a tweet from Trump's press secretary, as well, appearing to be something akin to an official White House line.
Viewers of day three of the DNC respond to former US president Barack Obama's historic call to defend American democracy by voting out US President Donald Trump.
Some people have dwelt on how unusual it is for a former president to attack his successor.
Others focus on how unusual the Trump presidency has been.
A variety of opinions tweeted on Senator Kamala Harris' speech at the Democratic National Convention.
As the Democrats and supporters line up to testify to the value and character of vice-president Joe Biden, US President Donald Trump tweeted a conspiracy-laden video, tagged with the words "Welcome, Barack and Crooked Hillary. See you in the field of battle!"
The video re-litigates the probe into Russian interference which started soon after Trump took office. The problem for Trump, of course, is that neither Hillary Clinton, nor Barack Obama are running for office in 2020.
Earlier today, Trump spoke about the emerging QAnon conspiracy theory that has at its heart fealty to Trump.
"I don't know much about the movement, other than I understand they like me very much," Trump told reporters at a briefing.
US Correspondent Matthew Knott is in Milwaukee and filed these initial thoughts about today's Convention:
"For me, the convention really kicked into high-gear on night three. There were compelling, forceful speeches from Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, with both warning the party base that democracy itself was at stake at the election.
"Kamala Harris showed why Joe Biden picked her as his running mate: she delivered her keynote speech with energy, passion and prosecutorial zeal. Importantly, there was far more attention to policy than nights one and two, with most of the speakers talking in detail about what a Biden administration would deliver for ordinary voters.
"Obama's speech hit a populist tone, warning that "those who benefit from keeping things the way they are" will be the ones who benefit if progressives stay at home. This was conveyed not just through the speeches but the video montages, which covered the Democrats' policies on gun control, climate change and immigration.
"It's questionable how much political conventions actually influence elections - especially during a pandemic. But night three went about as well as Democrats could have hoped for."
Kamala Harris takes to the stage, after being introduced by her sister Maya Harris, her niece Meena Harris and step-daughter Ella Emhoff.
Wearing a smart maroon suit, she tells the story of her childhood: of her mother who came from India at the age 19 "to pursue her dream of curing cancer at the University of California", and of her father Donald Harris, who had come from Jamaica to study economics.
"They fell in love in that most American way," she says. "All marching together for justice in the civil rights movement of the 1960s in the streets of Oakland and Berkeley. I got a stroller design view of people getting into what the great John Lewis called 'good trouble'."
Harris also gives viewers a glimpse of her achievements: firstly as a lawyer, then as a district attorney, Attorney General, and now a United States Senator.
"At every step of the way, I've been guided by the words I spoke from the first time on stood in a courtroom. Kamala Harris, for the people," she says.
Kamala Harris is about to get up. Today is a big day for her. If Trump is defeated on November 3, Harris would become the first female vice-president in US history. It’s not the first time she’s broken a glass ceiling or two. As I wrote in this peice last week:
“She was the first black woman to serve as San Francisco's District Attorney; the first to serve as California's attorney-general; and the first American of South Asian descent elected to the US Senate...”
Today, however, is the first time she gets to introduce herself on a world stage - and in a high stakes contest where there’s every chance that Joe Biden, who’ll be the oldest president in US history if elected, won’t recontest in 2024.
Just two women have previously been on the ballot as US vice-presidential candidates: The first was Democrat Geraldine Ferraro in 1984, who was picked as the running mate for Walter Mondale. He ended up losing to Ronald Reagan in a landslide. The second was Republican Sarah Palin in 2008, who ran alongside John McCain.
We’re now hearing from former President Barack Obama, who’s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dressed in a dark blue suit and matching tie, he’s echoing the sentiments of Michelle Obama from opening night by telling voters: “Donald Trump hasn't grown into the job because he can't.”
“I have sat in the Oval Office with both of the men who are running for president. I never expected that my successor would embrace my vision or continue my policies,” he says.
“I did hope, for the sake of our country, that Donald Trump might show some interest in taking the job seriously; that he might come to feel the weight of the office and discover some reverence for the democracy that had been placed in his care.
Now we're hearing from US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
After a few technical glitches (something that hasn't happened much in this convention until tonight) she talks about the need to give women greater representation in politics, defend abortion rights, provide secure safe and affordable childcare, and to pass equal pay for equal work.
"Who's standing in the way?" she asks.
"Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. So here's our answer. We will remember in November, when we will elect Joe Biden president...
"Joe Biden's faith in God gives him the courage to lead. Joe Biden's love gives him the strength to persevere. Joe Biden is the president we need right now - battle tested, forward looking, honest and authentic. He has never forgotten who he is fighting for."
