Thousands of people get into a twist for Yoga Day

New Delhi: Tens of thousands of people have attended mass yoga sessions to mark International Day of Yoga in India on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led people in a session in the country's north-eastern Ranchi city, while paramilitary soldiers practised at a base camp in Humhama, on the outskirts of Srinagar, Indian controlled Kashmir; and exiled Tibetan students were put through their poses at the Tibetan Children's Village School in Dharmsala.

The celebration takes place on June 21 annually.
