Travel tips: Where to go in Europe in November and December?

In late November and December you're better off focusing on the great cities of Europe. Except for regions in the deep south such as Sicily and Malta, the countryside will be looking sad and many places that rely on the tourist trade along the coast including Croatia will be largely closed for business. To fill in your week, Prague would be a good choice, combined with Vienna before heading for Budapest.
