Now that the final race has been run and it seems that the remaining Oaks Day crowd has started to make their way to the exit, that's our cue to wrap up today's blog.

Trainer Danny O'Brien pulled off the Melbourne Cup and the Kennedy Oaks double when Miami Bound proved far too good for her rivals in the 2500-metre group 1 classic under Damien Oliver, who won the Oaks for the fifth time.

The Oaks was a far cry from the glorious weather Melbourne offered on Cup day.
Just before the main race, the mercury seemed to plunge.
Punters were yelling, jumping in the air and screaming as Miami Bound crossed the finish line.
But it was short-lived, with most retreating back under shelter and back indoors soon after.
The favourite, Miami Bound, has taken out the Oaks, winning by about two lengths.
It's been a great carnival for trainer Danny O'Brien - he took out the Melbourne Cup two days ago with Vow and Declare.
And it's yet another win for jockey Damien Oliver.
The Oaks is underway.
Plenty of people aren’t sticking around for the main race and have decided to catch an early train home.
You probably won't be guaranteed in an hour or so.
It's almost time for the big race.
