Well, that would have to go down as one of the best Super Bowls in history (57 and counting).
Unfortunately for the Australians, Philadelphia’s Jordan Mailata and Arryn Siposs were on the wrong end of a classic as the Kansas City Chiefs kicked a field goal with eight seconds left to score a 38-35 win and lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy in Arizona.
Injured quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was limping badly after aggravating a high ankle injury in the first half, won MVP after a stellar second-half performance, denying Eagles gunslinger Jalen Hurts, who ran for three touchdowns.
Thanks for joining us and have a great afternoon.

Minns laps up Mailata mania in Bankstown
By
NSW Opposition Leader Chris Minns has followed the Mailata mania in Sydney, by attending a Super Bowl party at the Eagles offensive lineman’s junior club in Bankstown.
The 25-year-old Mailata had an awesome game blocking for quarterback Jalen Hurts, but it wasn’t enough to deny Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs in a final-quarter comeback. Minns and the fellow locals took in the action all morning.

Mailata’s misery
By
Like all those around him in green, big Jordan Mailata must be feeling pretty down right now. He was his usual extremely effective self in this match. That his name wasn’t mentioned all that much means his role as protector of Jalen Hurts was performed well. He has no reason to hang his head in disappointment.

Where does Andy Reid sit in the NFL coaching pantheon?
By
Having come close with the Eagles as their coach previously, Andy Reid has now racked up two Super Bowl wins with the Chiefs in four years. And it’s hurt his old franchise the most in an Arizona epic.
Where does he sit in the all-time list of NFL coaches?
No great shock here. If the Eagles won, it would have been Hurts. The place you want to be tonight is on the Chiefs’ jet that flies back to Kansas City.

Mahomes mastery
By
Five years in the NFL. Two Super Bowl wins. A hundred superb memories. Patrick Mahomes has had as good a start to a career as any quarterback we’ve ever seen. He might not get to Tom Brady’s seven wins, but more titles look to be on the horizon. In this game, he was probably outplayed by Hurts, but he maintained composure and performed when it was most needed. Brilliant stuff.

One of the great Super Bowls
By
They’ll be talking about this one for decades. Jalen Hurts was amazing but his team lost. Patrick Mahomes was superb and got the job done. The Eagles seemed likely to win until that kick return from Kadarius Toney flipped the game on its head.
