STUMPS
By
That's it for day two, which was dominated by Australia. While Steve Smith fells in the first session for 85, Travis Head and Tim Paine put on 147 for the sixth wicket as Paine made his highest Test score since becoming captain and Head posted a century. Quick wickets fell after tea as the Aussies searched for quick runs, eventually bowled out for 467. Cummins and Pattinson struck in the final session, leaving NZ 2-44 with captain Williamson already back in the dressing rooms.
Thanks for joining us today, I'll be back again tomorrow from 10:00am. Until then check out our full coverage here.

Taylor edges one which falls just shy of Wade at short-leg, but the next ball Pattinson strikes, wrapping Taylor on the knee roll. Pattinson is up and about, and Erasmus' finger goes up. But Taylor reviews, and to the great surprise of many the ball is going over the stumps! So Taylor gets a reprieve on one.

Fun fact

Pattinson beats the bat of Taylor to end the over. Curiously enough they were Victorian teammates around a decade ago when Taylor played for the Vics during the old state-based Big Bash.

WICKET
By
But the very next ball the NZ captain is on his way, and it's the Victorian Pattinson who strikes. A careless pull from Williamson who drags his shot in the air. Paine dashes about 20 metres to take the catch, and NZ are in trouble at 2-39. Ross Taylor is the new man in.

Drinks break
By
There are 13 overs (or more likely 45 minutes) left in the day and we are getting a drinks break. It's been a good start for the Aussies, with Cummins getting the early breakthrough. One or two more wickets before stumps and NZ will be in deep trouble.
