At it happened: Aussie breakthroughs leave Kiwis in trouble on day two

That's it for day two,  which was dominated by Australia. While Steve Smith fells in the first session for 85, Travis Head and Tim Paine put on 147 for the sixth wicket as Paine made his highest Test score since becoming captain and Head posted a century. Quick wickets fell after tea as the Aussies searched for quick runs, eventually bowled out for 467. Cummins and Pattinson struck in the final session, leaving NZ 2-44 with captain Williamson already back in the dressing rooms.

Pattinson beats the bat of Taylor to end the over. Curiously enough they were Victorian teammates around a decade ago when Taylor played for the Vics during the old state-based Big Bash.

He gets an all-run four from the bowling of Pattinson after guiding one down to point.

There are 13 overs (or more likely 45 minutes) left in the day and we are getting a drinks break. It's been a good start for the Aussies, with Cummins getting the early breakthrough. One or two more wickets before stumps and NZ will be in deep trouble.
