It's on to Bangalore for the second Test
By
Well, thanks for joining us through a stunning three days. It was an entertaining ride, culminating in Australia's first Test win on Indian soil since 2004, and snapping a nine-game losing skid in Asia.
An odd presentation capped off the win. Starc was awarded man of the match, then O'Keefe given the honour. Hopefully, our man Andrew Wu on the ground in Pune can explain.
For a full report of the day's events and post-match press conferences, stay tuned to Fairfax Media online and in print. There will be much written heading into the second Test in cosmopolitan Bangalore, beginning on Saturday.
A delighted Steve Smith says he was "really proud" of his team.
"I thought Steve O'Keefe was really outstanding ... both spin bowlers did a great job," he said.
He said O'Keefe was disappointed with bowling too full early on day one but adjusted.
Smith said the tourists had a "well-rounded" squad, with batsmen who can handle spin, good spin bowlers, and pacemen who can bowl reverse swing.
He said Starc's 60 in the first innings was important.

Virat Kohli says India have to take loss "on the chin"
By
Indian skipper Virat Kohli says this was his team's worst batting display in the past two years.
"I am sure the guys will bounce back strongly," he said.
He hopes the defeat is an "aberration"
"We have to take this loss on the chin ... it's a big learning for me. I have to accept that before anyone else on the team and take the team forward," he said.

What a turn around it's been since the debacle that was Hobart, when the Proteas secured an unbeatable series lead.
Rod Marsh quit as national selection chairman, and was replaced by Trevor Hohns, and there was a shake up of the team.
Steve Smith was given a side to forge in his own right and the Aussies responded with a crushing series win over Pakistan. Now this ...
Mitchell Starc named man of the match - his half century in the first innings turned this match
