Australia break 10-month drought
By
Mitchell Starc tells Fox Sports that the Australians were confident 'the tables would turn eventually' and they have here in Perth.
A critic of his in the first Test, Mitchell Johnson, is one of the first to hail their performance and there'll be plenty more to come as we now look to a juicy third Test in Melbourne.
CLICK HERE for Andrew Wu's match report. We'll be back on Boxing Day. Have a cracking Christmas.
Australia win their first Test in eight and it looks like relief rather than elation. It's all perfectly convivial as the teams shake hands and we go to Melbourne all-square on Boxing Day.
Bumrah still hasn't seen one, despite facing three balls. He swings and misses twice before getting a leading edge on the third and it's skied to Cummins who takes the catch next to the stumps.

WICKET Ishant 0 (c Paine b Cummins) 9/140
By
Ishant gets a faint but clear edge off Cummins and it sails through to Paine. The appeal is minimal and the umpire gives it. He was backing away and had no desire to stick around. Just Bumrah to go now.

Cummins into the attack
By
Pat Cummins, who himself got bowled by a worm burner, is into the attack and takes aim at Ishant's grill immediately. He's got zero idea how to handle this. He gives himself room and tries to ramp a bouncer over the slips but goes nowhere near it. The field is awesome with no-one in front of the wicket.

WICKET Umesh 2 (c b Starc)
By
A perfect over to a tailender from Starc. Precision nastiness and the ball did the talking. The final nail is hammered into the worn deck and it's aimed straight at Umesh's chest. He gloves it into the air for an easy catch for the bowler. Umesh won't be disappointed that ordeal is over.
This is a sad capitulation from India with only Rahane and Pant to hit the 30 mark.

Umesh rattled by Starc
By
Paine will do well to get the ball out of Starc's hand. Wickets on offer and the pitch singing when he bends his back. A short one from around the wicket smashes into Umesh's shoulder - looked like the helmet at first - and Paine shows concern for the batsman. He's counting clouds for the next delivery and misses it by a mile. The next full one hits 151kmh and Umesh gets bat on it from a foot outside leg and he still hasn't seen the next one, even though he gets two off it with one hand on the bat. I hope you've got plans for the afternoon because this doesn't look like it'll last long.
WHAT A CATCH. Pant plays a beautiful wristy cut shot behind point from Pant from a rare loose one from Lyon, who seems to see value in width to Pant. The leftie then watches the same ball through to Paine. But then he couldn't help himself. A wild swing catches only his thick inside edge and it finds a diving Handscomb at a shortish mid-wicket. Three wickets to come. It'll be Ishant or Umesh.
A quarter chance for Handscomb at short leg as Umesh gets an edge onto his pad but it doesn't quite carry. Pant takes one at the end of the over, not committed to farming the strike, to give Starc a crack at Umesh and he gets some grief straight away with a perfectly aimed bouncer. Umesh isn't good enough to get bat or glove on it though and it flies through to Paine. Leg slip and short leg come in and he swings himself off his feet trying to hit it out of the ground. Same result. A big shout for LBW from most of the Aussies as one keeps low but it's not out on all counts. He's happy to let Pant deal with Lyon and declines a single at the end of the over.

Never a dull moment with Pant
By
A stray one down the legside almost catches his glove - India definitely would have appealed for that - before a rough cut shot flies through point and leads Harris and Lyon to collide in the outfield (video below). A beauty from Starc rears up at him and catches his glove, but it falls safely to the spot where Khawaja was standing around gully-point a minute ago. He takes the single early to the next Lyon over and exposes Umesh again to Lyon.
