Collingwood has put out a press release confirming their picks trade with Gold Coast as The Age’s Daniel Cherny reported earlier this afternoon.
The Magpies will receive picks 22, 46, 58 and 79 in this year’s draft along with agreeing to swap fourth round picks with the Suns in 2022.
Those selections are expected to be used to cover any bids for father-son selection Nick Daicos and potentially help them secure trades for Patrick Lipinski and Nathan Kreuger.
The Suns will receive Collingwood’s second, third and fourth-round picks in 2022.
“This deal obviously gives us the scope to pursue a range of possibilities,” Collingwood GM of Football, Graham Wright, said.
“We have happily been able to make a commitment to Nick Daicos and we are in discussions to acquire a few others. More broadly, the deal enables us to continue to build a stockpile of young talent.
“We mined the draft last year to bring six of the first 44 players into our program. Close to half of our list are in the 1-3 year phases of their careers and today’s agreement with the Suns will allow us to keep pursuing our strategy.”

The pick numbers can change after trade period as teams receive compensation for some player moves and teams could still trade live picks during the draft.

Sydney have rekindled their interest in Port Adelaide ruck/forward Peter Ladhams.
That interest remains preliminary at the moment but is genuine if the right deal could be found and comes after the Swans attempted to lure the contracted Ladhams to Sydney last season.
Port are keen for him to explore his options despite him having one year remaining on his deal.
North Melbourne has offered a slide of draft picks in the late rounds next year in an ambit opening bid for Richmond’s ruck forward Callum Coleman-Jones.
North has offered their third round pick next year for Coleman-Jones but want Richmond’s fourth round pick back in return in the deal for the player.
The Tigers and North are a long way apart in early discussions as Richmond wants the Roos’ pick 20 for the big man who has been offered a four-year deal to move to Arden Street.
Coleman-Jones was drafted with pick 20 four years ago.
North Melbourne ironman Ben Cunnington broke down in tears when describing the support he had received and his determination to return to the field after being diagnosed with a testicular tumour.
Cunnington, 30, finished runner-up in the Kangaroos’ Syd Barker Medal count to youngster Jy Simpkin - the sixth time the robust midfielder had enjoyed a top-two finish - and his emotional speech touched all those who tuned in to the event.
The 227-game veteran missed the final four matches of the season, having had successful surgery, and agreed his finish in the best-and-fairest count had been special.
I’m sure few fans bar the most attentive had much interest in Nick Hind’s move from St Kilda to Essendon in last year’s trade period.
But once the season was up and running and Hind was bursting through the middle for the Bombers, suddenly that move received lots of attention.
Last year the Saints send Hind and the then pick 77 for picks 67 and 74.
Hind went on to play 22 games for the Bombers as they returned to the finals.
