Tim Kelly was all clear while Nic Naitanui and Andrew Gaff dominated in a win in front of over 43,000 people at Optus Stadium.

Rory Laird led the Crows with 35 touches and Ben Keays was excellent with his 32 touches.
Jack Darling’s five goals, all in the second term, helped break the game open while the Eagles made sure of the win in the final term.

3QT: West Coast 14.7 (91) to Adelaide 8.8 (56)

The Eagles were slow to start that quarter and the Crows had a nice little fightback but the home side clicked into gear late in the term to boost their lead and clearly have this game under their control.
Two goals from Jake Waterman and some stellar play from Nic Naitanui and Tim Kelly headlined the term.
It seems more a question of how much the Eagles will win by rather than whether the Crows still have a chance.
Adelaide will need something herculean to win this match from here.

Transition goal as Petruccelle converts
By
The Crows looked to have the Eagles boxed into their forward line but Gaff, Sheed, Allen and Kennedy took the ball down the wing before Kennedy kicked across the goals and found Jack Petruccelle who kicked the goal.
This is why they are still such a formidable side.

Crows fighting back
By
Adelaide has kicked two goals to start the third term and the Eagles are out of sorts around the ground.
Sam Berry kicked his second goal and Harry Schoenberg kicked truly from 40m out to cut the margin again.
Darling has barely touched the ball, the Eagles need to lift.
Eagles lead 61-44 with nine mins left in Q3.

The Eagles are in charge at half-time against the Adelaide Crows in Perth this evening.
Jack Darling kicked five goals in the second term for the Eagles who are clearly on top against the visitors.
We have already seen Josh Bruce kick 10 this season, could Darling do the same? You wouldn’t rule it out although Adelaide’s defence is good enough to find a solution for him.

FT: Melbourne 13.16 (94) d Carlton 10.8 (68)
By Roy Ward
Melbourne extended their undefeated start to nine games with a solid win over a wounded Carlton at the MCG on Sunday.
Every other season that the Demons have gone 9-0 has seen them win the premiership although all those seasons came between 1941 and 1964 so it means little in the modern AFL.

But what this win showed what they can fight out a game in tough conditions and against a side like the Blues who were wounded, clearly second best but still fighting for every possession.
Tom McDonald and Bayley Fritsch kicked three goals a piece while Clayton Oliver and Christian Salem had 29 disposals each.
The Blues lost David Cuningham to a knee injury which could be serious while who knows whether Harry McKay’s injured shoulder will end up seeing him miss matches or whether he will just play on through the pain.
He kicked three goals while clearly hurting.

Demons controlling the ball
By
The Demons are getting hands on the ball in these final few minutes so they should come away with this win.
I do wonder if they will be a little disappointed they don’t have a bigger margin at full-time but in wet weather, perhaps they will just happily take the win and move on.
