James Ashby raid: MPs Mal Brough, Wyatt Roy silent after AFP search records

Member for Fisher Mal Brough and Member for Longman Wyatt Roy have maintained their silence after federal police raided the Coast home of former political staffer James Ashby on Tuesday.

The two federal MPs would not comment after it was reported AFP officers were searching for evidence of communication between Mr Ashby and Mr Brough, Mr Roy, frontbencher Christopher Pyne and a number of news outlets.

Mr Ashby worked for Peter Slipper, the former Member for Fisher and Speaker of the House of Representatives, who stood down after Mr Ashby accused his former boss of sexual harassment.

Mr Ashby told the ABC that officers had attended his home about 8am.

Former political staffer James Ashby's parents' home in Beerwah has been scoured by federal police.

His parents' home in Beerwah was searched by eight officers, who scoured through computers and other records.
