Three arrested after man allegedly kidnapped from Sydney home

Three people have been arrested and charged after a man was allegedly kidnapped from a home in Sydney’s south-west on the weekend.
Police were told an unknown number of people forced their way into the home in Riverwood about 8am on Sunday and allegedly assaulted a 42-year-old man before leaving the scene with him.
Detectives launched an investigation which led them to a home on Susan Street in Auburn later that night.
Police said when they arrived at the Auburn property about 8pm, they found the 42-year-old allegedly being assaulted by a woman, who ran from the scene with two other men.
Following a foot pursuit, police arrested three people – Asmahan Zahed, 44, William James Shepley, 28, and Chris Twal, 33. They were taken to Burwood Police Station.
Zahed and Shepley were charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent – deprive liberty, take/detain person in company with intent obtain advantage and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Twal was charged with contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO.
All three were refused bail after appearing at Burwood Local Court on Monday. Zahed and Shepley will next appear at committal hearings in January, while Twal will return to court on Thursday.
Officers established a crime scene at the Auburn home, where they seized a Mitsubishi SUV that allegedly contained cable ties and a baton. They also established a crime scene at the home in Riverwood.
The 42-year-old was taken to hospital for stab wounds to his arm and finger.
