No. One. Is. Immune.
It's just about that time of day. But before we head off for a hard-earned grapefruit juice, what did we learn today?
- If you're colleagues are praising you to high heaven, it's time to worry;
- A whole lot of Senate hot air can be circumvented with a chat to the PM;
- Arthur Sinodinos has not resigned. He has just stepped aside;
- Regulatory bonfires are not quite like regular bonfires. There's no fire for a start; and
- No politician is immune to a dude dressed up as a giant banana. Or kidults in coloured shirts.
Here's something to pep up even the grumpiest of souls.
The government has now posted the regulations and laws that it wants to scrap as part of Repeal Day.
You can see it all on the Cutting Red Tape website.
Anyone else ever feel inexplicably tired when looking at the Wiggles?
There is no partisanship here. MPs on both sides are ridiculously excited.
To brighten the mood, MPs are currently gathering in the Mural Hall for the ABC's annual meet and greet event.
Managing director Mark Scott is here, the board is here ... and (cue: photos opps), the Wiggles and B1 and B2 are here.
And yes, the pollies cannot help themselves.
We now bring you the result of today's poll.
If you could reform the Senate in one way, what would you do?
It was another close one. But the winner was "introduce a 'citizen buzzer' so voters could cut off debates", with 40 per cent of the vote.
In other unfortunate updates, Sinodinos was scheduled to be the guest of honour at an ACT Liberal Party fund-raiser this evening ...
As Lisa Cox reports, the $250-a-head dinner had been planned for weeks.
And it will still go ahead. And Sinodinos is still going. Even if he isn't Assistant Treasurer right now.
In case anyone's wondering, the Press Gallery vending machine issues have not yet been resolved.
