We leave Tony Abbott and Shinzo Abe to their western jaunt as we gear up for a night reading the various works of Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and the Scottish socialists.

But before that, what did we learn today?

By

And also before we go, in breaking news, the Department of Parliamentary Services has announced there will be "full physical security screening" for all Parliament House occupants "until further notice".

After they were watered down in May, screenings were boosted again this week for Shinzo Abe's visit

And will now be maintained.

Before we go, can we point you to an update on Bruce Bonyhady's press club speech today:

Disability advocates have warned against any delay to the full rollout of the NDIS.

Every Australian Counts campaign director John Della Bosca says any delay to the rollout would leave Australians with disabilities and their families struggling without the support they needed.

The Senate has moved on to talk about school funding.

Maiden over, Doug Cameron congratulates David Leyonhjelm on his speech.

Even after the LDP Senator said that "sometimes it seems Scotland has produced nothing but incomprehensible socialists".

Unlike Jacqui Lambie, Leyonhjelm is not seeking the prime ministership:

"I have pursued liberty through membership of the Labor Party, the Liberal Party and the Shooters Party, so I can say with confidence the Liberal Democrats do not seek power to impose our views on the nation..."

And a bit of a kick to the greenies here:

"When it comes to property that we own in common, like national parks and fishing grounds, we are often locked out on the claim that nature is far too important to let scruffy humans enjoy it," Leyonhjelm says.

"Whilst in this place, I shall do all I can to oppose this trend. Environmental fanatics are not omniscient geniuses: they don't know enough to tell other people how to live their lives any more than I do.

"Indeed, they are the same people who engage in anti-GMO pseudoscience, pseudoscience that is not just nonsense, but murderous nonsense."
