Phew. What a day.
Let's look back on it:
the Opposition aggressively pursued Defence Minister David Johnston over deragatory remarks he made about the government's shipbuilder ASC;
the Senate censured Senator Johnston but Prime Minister Tony Abbott is standing by his minister;
Senator Johnston says the comments were a "rhetorical flourish" and he regrets them;
Liberal Democratic Party Senator David Leyonhjelm has introduced his same sex marriage bill into the Senate;
the Senate has passed the government's anti terrorism laws; and
Opposition leader Bill Shorten has promised Labor will campaign with a positive plan for the future.

Liberal Democratic Party Senator David Leyonhjelm is now introducing his same sex marriage bill into the Senate "to reduce government intervention in marriage and for related purposes".
Given the amount of time that was spent on the censure motion Senator Leyonhjelm is not giving his speech as the Senate tries to make up time.
