Perth youngster chuffed with Macca's payoff after UberEats trick

Like most children, James Young, 6, has a fondness for the occasional snack from McDonald’s.

And, like most children would, when the Perth youngster saw an opportunity to order his favourite meal, he took it.

James Young was understandably impressed with himself for ordering Uber Eats from his dad's phone.

While playing on his dad’s old mobile phone on Thursday night, James asked if he could order Uber Eats.

His dad Angus laughed and said: “knock yourself out,” safe in the knowledge the phone didn’t have a SIM card installed, and assuming there wasn’t a WiFi connection.

It wasn’t until James read a message out loud – “estimated time of arrival, 6 minutes” – that Angus realised the order had been placed and was on its way.

Thankfully, James only ordered himself two small fries (one for him, one for his dog) and a strawberry milkshake – a relief for his parents.

When asked if he is still allowed to play on his dad’s phone, James said “no” and added this advice: “Don’t trust kids with a mobile phone.”
