Two officers assaulted after 400 people gatecrash Byford Halloween party

Two police officers have been assaulted after they were called to an out-of-control Halloween party in Byford on Friday night.

WA Police said they received multiple calls in relation to a disturbance at a Linton Street North address just after 9.30pm.

Around 400 people were at the property, most of which were gatecrashers that were intoxicated.

Police shut down the party and dispersed the partygoers, they said, but in the process two were assaulted.

One officer was allegedly punched to the face and the other was kicked to the knee.

A 16-year-old Glen Iris girl was arrested and charged with two counts of assaulting a public officer, two counts of obstructing public officers and one count of disorderly behaviour in public. She is due to appear today in Perth Children’s Court.

A 21-year-old Thornlie man was also arrested and charged with one count of disorderly behaviour in a public place, one count of obstructing public officers and one count of possessing a prohibited drug. He will appear before Perth Magistrates Court today.

A 17-year-old man was issued a Move on Order.
