The Melbourne suburbs in lockdown

In Melbourne, 36 suburbs in 10 postcodes will be placed in lockdown with residents ordered to stay home from midnight on Wednesday. Under stage three restrictions there are only four reasons residents in those suburbs can leave their homes: food and supplies, medical care, exercise, and work or education.

The suburbs will remain under stage three restrictions until at least July 29.
The postcodes each have at least five COVID-19 cases and an infection rate greater than 20 per 100,000 residents.
The main transport corridors "in and out of these suburbs will be the subject of booze bus-type checks", Premier Daniel Andrews said.
The businesses and facilities in these areas that have been able to recently reopen, including beauty parlours, gyms, libraries and swimming pools, will again be closed.
Cafes and restaurants will only be open for takeaway and delivery. All affected businesses will be given a $5000 grant or a payroll tax refund.
