A teenage boy has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting an arrow at police in Sale.

Police allege the 17-year-old boy was acting erratically and refused to leave a property on Dugan Street, in the town's north east, for several hours on Thursday.

The boy allegedly shot the arrow toward police officers, where it narrowly missed a sergeant.

An explosive device was later seized from the house.

The boy has been remanded to appear in a children’s court at a later date.

He has been charged with multiple offences including attempted murder, assaulting an emergency service worker and arson.
