An unoffical anti-Vietnam demonstration in the Moomba parade caused the official party on the Town Hall steps a few moments' anxiety. Two young men carried a girl on a stretcher daubed with red paint. A sheet hanging from the stretcher read "Remember the Vietnam dead." The trio were lead peacefully from the parade by police, 1969.
