Jocelyn Garcia

A man has been taken to hospital after he was shot at a home in Brisbane's south overnight.

Police said the man was alone in an Eduard Place home in Calamvale before he sustained a gunshot wound to his leg just after 8pm on Saturday.

The man called a friend who then notified emergency services about the incident.

Paramedics took the 37-year-old Calamvale man to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition, with critical-care paramedics and the high-acuity response unit on board.

A crime scene was declared while police doorknocked the local area.

Anyone who may have noticed anyone loitering or acting suspiciously, or anyone with relevant dashcam or home CCTV is urged to contact police.
