Housemate of missing teen Pheobe Bishop taken into custody
A housemate of missing Bundaberg teenager Pheobe Bishop has been taken into police custody.
It comes 20 days after the 17-year-old vanished while reportedly on her way to Bundaberg Airport.
Police confirmed a 34-year-old man had been taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon. No charges had been laid.
“[He] is currently assisting police with inquiries as part of ongoing investigations into the disappearance,” police said in a statement.
At the time that she disappeared, Pheobe was living at a home in Gin Gin – about 45 kilometres south-west of Bundaberg – with two adults, including 34-year-old James Wood.
Earlier on Wednesday, police confirmed the initial search operation had concluded.
“There are currently no physical searches for Pheobe at this stage,” a spokesperson said.
“However, physical searches will happen as needed and as information is provided.
“Investigations are ongoing, and police are continuing to run out several lines of inquiry.”
