Officers attended his home on Belivah Road to alert family he had been hurt, but instead discovered the bodies of his partner Kate Paterson and 11-month-old daughter April.

Witnesses later reported the 38-year-old Seers had been seen running towards the road, and might have already had a neck injury when struck.

After the car crash the alleged killer was unconscious in hospital, but police confirmed he had since regained consciousness.
