A woman will face court next month accused of stealing more than $1 million during a four-year period from the Sunshine Coast restaurant at which she worked.

Police said the owner of the Sunshine Coast restaurant came to police and made a complaint, which triggered a two-year investigation by Noosa Heads detectives.

It will be alleged she stole the money from the Hastings Street restaurant between 2013 and 2017.

On Friday, a 41-year-old Noosaville woman was arrested and charged with stealing as a servant. She was due to appear in the Noosa Magistrates Court on August 6.
