Upper Hunter votes in byelection
Voters in the Upper Hunter were forced to a byelection after former Nationals MP Michael Johnsen quit Parliament amid accusations of raping a sex worker. There are 13 candidates contesting the seat which has been held by the Nationals for 90 years, but it is on a tight margin of 2.6 per cent. Considered the coal capital of Australia, the byelection hinges on the big tickets of energy, agriculture and the environment.
