Teenager stabbed in chest on a Sydney train

A teenager was allegedly stabbed in the chest on board a train in Sydney’s north-west on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Hornsby train station at around 4.30pm, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to the Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command found a 14-year-old boy with stab wounds to his chest. He was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

The 14-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed by one teenager, who was with three others, while aboard a train.

The group of teenagers and the injured boy exited the train at Hornsby station after the alleged incident, where police have now established a crime scene.

The group of boys, including the one who allegedly stabbed the teenager, fled the scene.

Police are yet to locate the weapon, which the Herald was told was used to allegedly inflict more of a slash than a stab wound on the 14-year-old’s chest.

The boy’s condition has so far not been disclosed.
