Surry Hills pub fire suspends light rail services

A fire that caused smoke to billow from the roof of an inner Sydney pub briefly suspended light rail services on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the heritage listed Dove and Olive on Devonshire Street at Surry Hills shortly after 1.30pm.

Video posted to Reddit showed firefighters responding, with smoke coming from a rooftop shed that appeared to be scorched.

The pub is adjacent to the Light Rail, and services were suspended on the Randwick and Kingsford lines, but had resumed at a reduced frequency shortly after 3pm.
