Another man drowned at about 7:20am after his dog was washed out to sea at Pearl Beach.

The 64-year-old entered the water to rescue his dog and quickly became overwhelmed by the surf conditions.

Emergency services were quickly called to Pearl Beach, but they were unable to resuscitate the man upon pulling him out of the water.

The dog was successfully rescued.

He is yet to be identified but is believed to have lived in Newtown.
