Man charged with murder after body found in home near Parkes

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found inside a home in the state’s Central West on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the property on Boori Street in Peak Hill, north of Parkes, about 11am after concerns were raised for the welfare of the occupant.

Officers attached to Central West Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and located the body.

Police said the man is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established for the house to be forensically examined.

The death is being treated as suspicious and detectives established Strike Force Hattersley to investigate.

Following inquiries, a man was arrested at Peak Hill police station on Sunday afternoon and he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Parkes Local Court on Monday.

Investigations continue.
