Woman and male visitor found dead at NSW home
Updated ,first published
Police are continuing their investigations after the bodies of a woman and a man were found at a home on the NSW North Coast on Friday evening.
The woman has been identified as 61-year-old Carolyn Campbell, who lived at the home at Boambee, near Coffs Harbour, with her husband. The man, who is yet to be formally identified, is believed to have been in his 60s and was visiting the couple.
Police made the grim discovery after officers were called to the home about 5.15pm.
Responding to concerns for the welfare of the pair, police arrived at the South Boambee Road address, where the man and woman were found dead.
Coffs/Clarence Police Department crime manager Detective Inspector Peter O’Reilly appealed to anyone with information they believe is relevant to the investigation to contact Coffs Harbour Police or Crime Stoppers.
“Initial information provided to investigators indicates the deceased man was a family friend who had been staying with the couple only a matter of days,” he said.
“While the investigation is very much in its early stages, we have no evidence there is anyone else involved in these deaths; however, we will be keeping an open mind as we progress our inquiries.
“At this point in the investigation, we do not believe there is any current threat to the local community in relation to this incident.”
Police have established Strike Force Yarnko to investigate the deaths.
