Boy, 16, shot at Sydney train station

A 16-year-old boy has been shot in the leg at a train station in Sydney's south.

The bullet struck the boy just above his right kneecap yesterday evening during an incident on Geeves Avenue at Rockdale station, paramedics said.

He was taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition and will probably undergo surgery, a spokesman for the Ambulance Service of NSW said.

The injuries were non-life threatening.
