Victoria recorded seven deaths and 10 new cases of COVID-19, seven of which were not linked to known outbreaks. The state’s Premier Daniel Andrews and health officials have said reducing the proportion of cases with an unknown source is key to further easing restrictions.
NSW recorded its fourth consecutive day without community transmission of the virus, with two new cases in hotel quarantine on Tuesday. Premier Gladys Berejiklian said health experts may consider further easing restrictions after school holidays.
More than 33.3 million COVID-19 cases and one million linked deaths have been confirmed internationally. Australia has recorded a total of 27,063 cases and 882 deaths.
