Here's where we'll leave things tonight. It's been a full day of news - hence why we've run the blog a bit later tonight.
What happened around the country today:
- Victoria reported eight deaths and 627 new cases on Friday as the government seeks more data before looking at additional restrictions. Federal disaster teams (AUSMAT) began assisting some of Victoria's worst affected aged care facilities, while government released postcode specific data for the first time.
- NSW recorded 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday as the state's Chief Health Officer revealed there was a link between the two Thai Rock outbreaks.
- Two doctors and a radiographer in Melbourne are all fighting for their lives in ICU after contracting COVID-19
and Australia got a special mention by US President Donald Trump today, using us as an example of a country that is now having "tremendous problems" dealing with the global pandemic.
