Denman Prospect home damaged by fire

A Denman Prospect home has been significantly damaged by a fire on Saturday morning.

Firefighting crews were alerted to the fire by a triple-zero call about 10:50am on Saturday. When they arrived to the Kondelea Way home they found the property to be well alight, with the fire burning in the roof space, an Emergency Services Agency spokesman said.

The fire had been extinguished by 12:30pm and firefighting crews had left the scene.

Fire investigators and ACT Policing are examining the damaged property.

Nobody was injured as a result of the fire.

The Emergency Services Agency responded to the fire with four pumpers, a Bronto unit, which is a specialised crane for aerial firefighting, a breathing apparatus van and two commanders.

The spokesman said information provided in the triple-zero call suggested the fire had started in the garage, but that claim had yet to be confirmed by investigators.
