The home
A renovated two-bedroom high-rise apartment in Melbourne.

Who lives here
Serial renovators Jarrad and Michael Duggan-Tierney with their son Reid, 15.

What we did
“Our plans snowballed into a full-scale demolition and rebuild of every room,” says Jarrad. “We enlisted Kelly Donougher from 13 Interiors to create our dream ‘high-end hotel’ vibe. Danielle Mastro from Lights Lights Lights designed a lighting plan that transforms the apartment at night.”

Our favourite room
“Although the kitchen is the smallest we’ve had, we reconfigured it to hold two large ovens, an integrated fridge and freezer and two pantries,” says Jarrad. “We love to entertain, so this room was a big focus for us.”

The ’hood
“We love walking to Prahran and South Melbourne markets and spending time at the Botanic Gardens,” says Michael. “Gilson is becoming our favourite local cafe.”

Future plans
“We invested in bespoke cabinets and luxurious appliances as we intended this to be our forever home,” says Jarrad. “But Michael’s interest has been sparked in another project, so who knows?”

Best advice
“Surrounding yourself with what makes you happy, makes your home a sanctuary,” says Jarrad.
